This is my 100th post on this blog.
I’d taken my first tentative steps into blogging on 19th December, 2008. I didn’t know what to write about in the first post let alone decide about what the theme of the blog would be. It turned out to be a personal blog, as my favorite topic is “ME”! I had so much to say about my thoughts and opinions on everything under the sun. The blog also became a journal with me chronicling my life events in it both past and recent ones. Going through the posts under the category “self” I’m astonished to read about how I’ve changed as a person in a few months. I’ve noticed in particular the fluidity of my emotions and thoughts. I’ve become more assertive and less apologetic about my flaws in these few months. Confidence has sky-rocketed.
I’d written about the people close to me, about my own personal quirks, and about random people I encounter who leave their own distinct impression on me and the way I think. I’d also written about things that interests me: books, travel, movies, medicine, technology and history. I was even brave enough to try my hand at creative writing, about which I know zilch. I wrote short stories, short fictional pieces, and poems. Humour, analytical, insightful, melancholy, feel good, angry, or plain gibberish...my posts varied with my mood. My writing too had been erratic...sometimes I posted three articles in a day, and then there were times when I disappeared for more than a month! So I was delightfully surprised when people actually appreciated my blog. I remember the pleasant shock I received when I saw my first blog comment. Someone was actually reading my blog, and liked it!! It was on my wordpress blog. I had started it in the first week of December last year…quirkymon.wordpress.com. Then I found blogger platform more user-friendly and copy-pasted my works from wordpress onto blogger. I continued simultaneously updating both the blogs with similar content for a couple of months and then I permanently shifted to blogger. I started learning about customizing blogs, and went about changing the look of my blog with the little technological knowledge I had. Then I started joining blogging communities, and found some fabulous bloggers. I started reading their blogs, and discovered newer blogs from links on their blogs. And soon I had a collection of my favorite blogs that I never miss reading over my morning cup of coffee. Meanwhile, to my amazement my blog too had a bunch of fab readers. It hasn’t sunk in yet that my rants and ramblings are of interest to others! More so because of the wonderful content I see in my favorite blogs and in comparison my blog is nothing at all!
But it’s a good thing, and it makes me feel good to be appreciated, and the blogging journey had been wonderful for me…with all the love and ready acceptance I received. Writing this blog had changed me as a person too, as I’d mentioned above and it’s a wonderful feeling to witness my own life to the minute details as it unfolds before me and chronicling them in this blog. This blog has made me delve into creative writing, however amateurish the results maybe. This blog has been the source of me meeting some wonderful people, my fellow bloggers whose every word I hungrily devour. I cry, I laugh, I rejoice, I mourn; I live your little experiences in life along with you through your blogs. I want to thank all the people who have visited my blog and appreciated my posts, all the people who have commented and all my readers for inspiring me each day to continue with blogging.
I started out late into the blogosphere, but I’m glad I did.
This would be my last post for the next two months as I’ve exams coming up, and I need to take care of my father till he gets well. Will be back in July end. Do miss me!

Congrats on your 100th post. We had our one-year anniversary post recently and were also so proud to have made it that far. We were trying to decide what to do for the celebration and couldn't think of anything, so we ended up just saying, "Um, it's been a year" and leaving it at that. = )
